Leaked phone conversation of Mohbad’s dad saying Naira Marley only showed his son who’s boss (Audio)

An alleged phone conversation purportedly involving the father of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has surfaced online, generating renewed discussion around the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death and his past relationship with music executive Naira Marley.

In the audio clip released by Gistlover blog, which has since gone viral, a voice believed to belong to Mohbad’s father suggested that Naira Marley did not kill his son but only “showed him superiority” through actions he described as unfair treatment.

The speaker asserted that there was no reason for Naira Marley to want Mohbad dead and warned that such claims should not be made without proof.

He further disclosed that he had had many discussions with the Marlian Music boss, adding, however, that it had been up to one and a half years since they last spoke.

Here is a transcript of some of the audio conversation carried out in Yoruba: “The only thing I see there is that Naira showed him superiority. And it’s also clear that his ears were shut. He did not listen to advice. I can talk about Naira, because Naira and I have discussed a lot. It’s been over one and a half years now. He gave me his number, but I cannot have access to call him. That’s one of the disadvantages of Naira.

“Now, regarding the incident where they said Mohbad was in the studio and some people came around to harass him. Naira is not the kind of a person you can say is evil, or that wants to kill Mohbad. He just showed him his superiority, that I am the boss. That is what I see. I don’t think he was among those who did it. Another major thing is that they shut his ears. He did not listen to advice”.

The authenticity of the recording has not been independently verified at the time of filing this report, and there has been no official confirmation from the Aloba family or Naira Marley regarding the content of the conversation. The voice, however, bears a striking similarity to the voice of Mohbad’s father in other audio and video interviews that have been released.

The development adds to ongoing public interest in the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, which has remained a subject of investigation and controversy since 2023.
