Some people have been trapped as a 3-storey building under construction collapsed in the Gwarinpa area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Thursday.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, said policemen were already at the site of the incident for the rescue operation.
She also told Daily Post that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Abubakar had personally visited the scene.
“The CP equally pledged the support of the command to aid the functions of Building Regulatory and Investigative Bodies within the FCT.
“He earlier described the situation as very unfortunate, called on the residents of the area to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious movement to relevant authorities, particularly the police”, she added.
