A trending video has shown the moment a woman stripped to her knickers and bra in a banking hall to protest her inability to access her money.
The lady who spoke in Yoruba said she was no longer interested in keeping a bank account and that the bank should therefore close the account and give her back her money.
She protested that her children could not go to school because of lack of access to her money.
“Close my account. I don’t want to use it again. Return my money. My children didn’t go to school yesterday. They didn’t go today.”
It is not clear if this incident is connected to the general scarcity of naira notes in the banks across Nigeria.
