Security camera exposes man who killed his workmate with gas cylinder (Graphic Video)

A man is in police custody in Peru after he smashed a gas cylinder on the head of his colleague many times in the city of Ayacucho.

The man, identified as Rafael Vilcatoma Arone is being held at the facilities of the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Divincri).

The lifeless body of Abraham Lucano was discovered by staff at the gas distribution company on Tuesday and a review of the security camera showed that it was his colleague, who was nowhere in sight, that actually killed him.

The police said the crime was committed at a gas distribution site during the night of Tuesday, September 6, in the Covadonga area, in the district of Ayacucho where Rafael Vilcatoma and Abraham Lucano worked labeling and accommodating empty gas cylinders.

Footage from the security camera shows that at a point when Abraham Lucano is bending down to make some notes, Rafael Vilcatoma comes from behind and hits him on the head with a gas cylinder.

Suspect sneaks up behind the victim with a gas cylinder.

He picks it up and smashes it on the head of the victim many times to ensure he is dead.

He then exits the premises.

With the evidence from the camera, Rafael Vilcatoma, was arrested by the police hours later in the vicinity.

No motive has been established for the murder, but preliminary interrogation of the suspect indicated that he was acting on some films he had watched, as he claimed that the character of the film took him over at some point.

The police said they would call for mental evaluation to ascertain the suspect is not trying to feign insanity to escape the consequences of the grave crime.
