An old tweet shared by British media personality, Piers Morgan where he mocked late Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe in death has surfaced following mixed reactions to a US-based Nigerian Professor’s comment about the late Queen Elizabeth.
Professor Uju Anya had described Elizabeth as the “Chief Monarch of the thieving raping genocidal empire” and further wished her “excruciating pain”.
The comment has generated massive reactions online, with many social media users describing it as callous and hateful. Others supported her.
Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder, condemned the tweet. The world’s third-richest man quoted Anya’s tweet and wrote: “This is someone supposedly working to make the world better?”
“I don’t think so,
“Wow.”
Similarly, journalist Piers Morgan wrote: “You vile disgusting moron.”
Social media users have now dug up Morgan’s own tweet disparaging Mugabe in death as South African activist, Julius Malema celebrated him after his death.
Morgan described Mugabe as a “vile ruthless dictator who terrorised his people and ruined Zimbabwe”.
He also added that Malema celebrating the late Zimbabwean President shows who he is.
