“Game On”: Yomi Fabiyi hits back at Mo Bimpe over ‘sex-for-role’ clarification

The long-standing cold war between Nollywood actor-filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi and popular actress Adebimpe Oyebade-Adedimeji (Mo Bimpe) has taken a fiery new turn following fresh revelations regarding how their professional relationship disintegrated.
The drama reignited after Mo Bimpe hosted an interactive question-and-answer session on her Instagram page. A curious fan directly asked her to clear the air on a lingering industry rumour: “Is it true that you and Yomi dey fight because of sex for role?”
Mo Bimpe Sets the Record Straight
Responding directly, the actress—who is now happily married to Nollywood star Lateef Adedimeji—categorically denied that Fabiyi withheld movie roles in exchange for sexual favours. However, she dropped a bombshell regarding an ultimatum the filmmaker allegedly gave her after production wrapped.
“NO! In fact, he didn’t ask me out till we finished his movie I featured in,” Mo Bimpe clarified. (Though he said if he knew I was going to turn him down, he would have done that before shooting the movie).
“We don’t relate because he insisted on either dating me or being enemies, and I had to choose [the latter].”
According to the actress, her refusal to give in to his subsequent romantic advances permanently soured their relationship, leading to years of mutual animosity.
Yomi Fabiyi fires back: “Don’t destroy the ladder”
It didn’t take long for the filmmaker to catch wind of her statements. Known for his unfiltered social media presence, Fabiyi took to his official Instagram page to fire back with a series of heavy, cryptic counter-accusations, framing the actress’s remarks as calculated attempts to ruin his reputation.
Posting from what he described as a library, Fabiyi warned that “natural justice” would eventually prevail, accusing his former protégée of peddling half-truths.
“Hello, you say what? I am coming, I am in the library,” Fabiyi wrote.
“It is safe to say some people will want to DESTROY the ladder they use in climbing to the top by all means possible, and a handful will still indulge such. Nothing is as efficacious as Natural Justice. I hate half-truths. Game on.”
The root of the rift
For context, Fabiyi is widely credited with giving Mo Bimpe her breakout role in the Nollywood industry when he cast her as the lead actress in his hit 2017 movie, Agbede Meji.
While the film catapulted her into the spotlight and established her as a mainstream talent, their professional relationship ended abruptly shortly after.
With Fabiyi formally declaring “Game On,” fans and industry observers are waiting to see if this public spat will lead to deeper, more explosive revelations from both sides.
