A home security camera has captured the moment a celebratory firecracker lit by an American family went terribly wrong and destroyed many things.
The video was uploaded on Twitter on Tuesday, a day after America’s independence day celebration.
It is however not certain if the incident happened during the independence celebration.
The video has so far been viewed over 13.7 million times on Twitter since it was posted on Tuesday evening.
The clip shows a family sitting on the lawn in front of a home with lawn chairs as multiple people attempt to set up a fireworks display.
The first firework goes off, but not exactly as expected. Instead of going up, sparks fly close to the people who set it off as well as those sitting down. Almost immediately, a fire erupts at the back of a parked van in the driveway.
A woman can be seen quickly rushing out of her seat to grab a young child out of harm’s way.
Another round of explosions soon erupts sending everyone on the lawn scampering for safety. Then more rounds of fireworks go off behind the van causing a large cloud of smoke.
With every person out of the camera view, the fireworks continue to fly in random directions on the driveway in sparks of green, red and orange.
In America, it is customary for hospitals to be filled with cases of firecracker-related accidents and incidents.
