The remains of the celebrated Nigerian gospel singer and actor, Prince Chinedu Nwadike, have been laid to rest amid tears and glowing tributes at his family compound in Umuokekpu, Owerre-Ebiri, located in the Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, on Friday, June 3rd.

The 39-year-old music icon passed away on March 27th following a gruelling battle with chronic kidney disease and blood cancer (leukaemia). He tragically passed away in Abuja just after recovering from kidney complications and preparing to travel to India for further specialised medical treatment.

The funeral was a deeply emotional gathering, heavily attended by family members, devoted fans, and prominent figures from both the gospel music industry and Nollywood. Mourners could not hold back their tears as his body was lowered into the grave, marking the end of an era for the beloved entertainer.

Prince Nwadike was not just a singer; he was a dynamic performer who initially gained fame as a dancer before transitioning into a highly successful solo music and acting career. He captured the hearts of many with his electrifying praise medleys and chart-topping hits like “God of Vengeance,” “Afo Ngozim,” and “Oku Gbajie Aka Ji Ya.” His unique style brought spiritual upliftment and joy to countless homes across Nigeria and beyond.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorah Nwadike, and their three young children. Though his life was cut short, his legacy of faith, resilience, and musical excellence continues to live on in the hearts of his listeners.
