Apprehension over Mbaka’s whereabouts causes violent protests in Enugu

His appearance ends commotion

Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka

Routine Wednesday service of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, , tagged “I no dey”, turned violent today when congregants were told Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka was not available and could not be traced.

The congregants were told the cleric said he was going to the Catholic Bishop’s court.

Many in the congregation became apprehensive of the safety of the cleric who was involved in brickbats with the presidency recently. Some openly expressed fears that he might have been picked up by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The congregants consequently went to the Bishop’s Court in search of the cleric only to realise he was not there either.

This infuriated some of the congregants who proceeded to vandalise some things on the premises, as they demanded that Bishop Callistus Onaga should produce Fr. Mbaka.

Some of the placards reads; No Mbaka, no Bishop, Where is Mbaka, Bishop Umu nwa, Daddy where are you, we are missing you”.

The congregants in their hundreds were still protesting when Mbaka drove into their midst, changing the mood of the gathering instantly.

He stood up through the open roof of the car to wave to the crowd who started singing happy songs.

He was yet to address the gathering as to his whereabouts at the time of filing this report.
